Vonage - Arrghh!

I know that I used to sing their praises, but that is done.

What a terrible company.

I attempted to have my phone line with them turned off in August when my ISP offered me a better rate.

Since then, I've been dealing with nothing but crap.

I called, and was told that they'd disconnect it for me.

They never turned off the line, and I was billed for it again the next month. I called, and the customer service rep told me that, since I'd had the service less than a year, there would be a $50 fee if I wanted to shut it off. Bear in mind, the first CSR had never mentioned that.

The second one apologized, and told me they'd give me two free months (Septemer and October) to make up for the error, and that that would get me over the year mark.

I was charged in September. Called, bitched, was told there was no record of the conversation. Finally got the charge taken off.

This month, same thing, except they would not take the charge off.

I went ahead and cancelled the service this month, since it's now over a year. And, I'm charged for all of October, since they "don't pro-rate their billing cycle." The billing cycle started yesterday.

Not recommended, at all.
