Too much irony in my diet.

Sorry for the back-to-back grumpy posts, but this is too bizarre not to share.

I've been having some cam trouble the last couple of days. There's a short in the wire of my good camera, and now, I can't seem to install the drivers for my crapy back-up camera.

I do/did have a pretty decent quality back-up cam, but I lent it to a fellow camgirl back when she was having problems. She's since had her phone turned off, so I can't reach her. She was on the verge of eviction last time we talked, so I wasn't even sure if I could swing by her house.

Anyway... I was on YIM with a friend, on a real long-shot request to see if she knew anyone else with a cam I could borrow just for a day or two. Buying one isn't an option, as my checking account is bone dry. Possibly going to over-draw because of the damn Vonage fiasco, if you really want the truth.

Anyway, while I am on YIM, you will never believe who up and called me.

Well, of course you will. Otherwise, I wouldn't be telling you, right?

It was the prodigal camgirl. I haven't heard from her in over a month.

So, I ask for my camera.....

wait for it.....

She doesn't know where it is. It's in a box from her last hurried move, maybe at her mother's place.

Hey, universe? If you're going to throw me bizarre coincidences, can they at least be useful ones?

Vonage - Arrghh!

I know that I used to sing their praises, but that is done.

What a terrible company.

I attempted to have my phone line with them turned off in August when my ISP offered me a better rate.

Since then, I've been dealing with nothing but crap.

I called, and was told that they'd disconnect it for me.

They never turned off the line, and I was billed for it again the next month. I called, and the customer service rep told me that, since I'd had the service less than a year, there would be a $50 fee if I wanted to shut it off. Bear in mind, the first CSR had never mentioned that.

The second one apologized, and told me they'd give me two free months (Septemer and October) to make up for the error, and that that would get me over the year mark.

I was charged in September. Called, bitched, was told there was no record of the conversation. Finally got the charge taken off.

This month, same thing, except they would not take the charge off.

I went ahead and cancelled the service this month, since it's now over a year. And, I'm charged for all of October, since they "don't pro-rate their billing cycle." The billing cycle started yesterday.

Not recommended, at all.
